The MAP provides the skills and tools of arts practice as a high impact resource in the growth of organisations and the creative and professional development of their people.. This work takes place in the corporate, public and cultural sectors, nationally and internationally. Recent key areas of work include Leadership, Feedback, Team Development and Communication. Projects are generally custom-made and can take many forms including:

  • Large-scale training initiatives and conferences
  • Compact workshops
  • Long-term modular-based courses
  •  'Residential’ programmes where The MAP works within the fabric of an organisation
  • ‘Creative Investigations’: commissioned pieces of arts-led action research from The MAP, shedding light on key themes or emerging trends.

Key initiatives in 2007/2008

HouseWork  A new collaboration with The Royal Opera House, HouseWork is a corporate professional development programme working with Opera, Ballet and the many resources which make Covent Garden a world centre of artistic excellence. We have successfully launched programmes for clients including Prudential, Sainsbury's and Goldman Sachs.

The programme provokes and supports new policy and practice by investigating the potential of creativity as a catalyst for change and new work.

Train the Artist/Facilitator  The MAP have in the past shared their learning by training artists interested in relationships with business in partnership with Arts & Business England, Wales and Northern Ireland. This new course, funded by the Learning and Skills Council through Arts & Business West Midlands, provides the UK’s first accredited qualification for artists wanting to work in business.
